With this document, we propose a first concept of how to implement an intersectional approach into practical work. In doing so we treat Intersectional Mainstreaming as a cross cutting issue and as a strategy, comparable to the European directive of Gender Mainstreaming.

Even though Intersectional Mainstreaming cannot rely on an official political or administrative strategy, we nevertheless try to depict a process of implementation, which is based on the commitment of the concerned actors. Apart from that, Intersectionality is a core issue in all processes of decision making and work procedures and subject to each individual’s responsibility.
